Corruption significantly undermines legal business activities, distorts market competition, ruins reputations and exposes companies and individuals to civil and criminal liability. Although there is a growing trend among large business enterprises to implement compliance program to prevent corruption risks; small and medium business to large extent still do not consider compliance to be an important topic. This is often caused by the lack of awareness about the importance of ethical business vs respective compliance risks as well as lack of resources to implement robust compliance programs.
